Hutly is introducing a major change to Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV)'s VicForms this month — attachments for contracts!
Hutly's implementation of attachments, which has been live in QLD since last year, takes the old-world process of 'initialling' each page of a document and brings it into the digital age.
A good example of how this works is the rental agreement.
Many agencies have a standard document that each new tenant needs to read and physically initial before signing the rental agreement. Using the Hutly process, a tenant has to scroll through the complete Residential Rental Agreement and then scroll through and read those attachments before they can actually sign the contract. The signing button is only active once the signee has reached the bottom of all attachments.
The agency can take comfort in the fact that signees have reviewed and acknowledged the documents they would have initialled in the offline world, and all parties get a copy of the documents that were sent.
Of course, with the Hutly attachments feature, it’s also possible to simply attach documents to the first notification email sent to signees from VicForms. We expect most agencies will use this feature to send documents you would would normally send to signees for their records.
And if there are standard documents agencies regularly get initialed or send to signees, they can be added to a library of default documents which is accessible to all users in the agency.
We can’t wait to see how much this helps agencies in their quest to be more efficient while staying compliant and at the cutting edge of real estate technology.
